About Truth In Polling
Truth In Polling is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2024 by Daniel W. Eaves Jr. in Zionsville, Indiana.
Why TIP Exists
TIP was built because citizens cannot hold elected officials accountable without access to clear, verified, nonpartisan data. Politicians say one thing and do another. Legislation is written to be unreadable. Campaign money flows in the dark. TIP exists to fix that — to give every citizen the same quality of information that lobbyists, donors, and political insiders take for granted.
When AI became accessible, the founder realized the technology existed to read every bill, translate legislative language into plain English, compare what politicians said to how they voted, and follow the money to its source.
Permanent Principles
- Truth Over Comfort: Never suppress or soften data to protect any person, party, or funder.
- Nonpartisan by Structure: Same algorithms for every official regardless of party.
- Citizens First: Every feature asks — does this make a citizen more informed?
- Transparency: Every score and model is documented and explainable.
- No Gatekeeping: Factual data is a public good. Never paywall it.
- The Mission Survives the Founder: Document everything. No single points of failure.
